Sunday Sermons
At Cornerstone, the sermons are primarily expository in nature. We spend most of our time stepping through a section or book of the Bible verse by verse, section by section, and occasionally we will preach on a theme. The elders strive to make each sermon a Christ centered, church building, Gospel proclaiming, truth driven, biblically grounded, proclamation for the purpose of God glorifying transformation.
As we progress through our study of the full armor of God, we have taken some time to heed the call to war and we have looked at the power of God to enable our resistance. Now we learn about our enemy and his sly tactics from [esvignore]Ephesians 6:11[/esvignore], and supplement with a number of…
In this sermon, we take an in-depth look at the power of God to keep us and strengthen us, especially with an eye toward suffering and trials. We learn from [esvignore]Ephesians 6:10[/esvignore] that we are to be strong in the power and might of the Lord. What is the nature of this power and how…
There is a war raging, and Christians are in it whether they know it or not. It takes courage to engage our threefold enemy, and we dare not engage without the proper weapons and defense. In the sermon, we begin a new series from [esvignore]Ephesians 6[/esvignore] on the Full Armor of God. In this introduction…
In this message, we take a break from our Ephesians series to hear a the simple goodness of the gospel from [esvignore]John 3:16[/esvignore]. Inspired by Pastor Richard Newton’s series of sermons for children found in his many books, this message is directed to the younger crowd, but not dumbed down. In fact, many parents were…
This message if from [esvignore]Ephesians 6:9[/esvignore] where there is an immense amount of learning packed into a very few words. On the contrary, we will learn how Paul’s words are filled with immensely good application with regard…
Out text is [esvignore]Ephesians 6:5-8[/esvignore] as we continue our study of bondservants and masters. In this message, we apply – as best we can – those analogous characteristics of obedience between slaves and masters to our modern economic relationships. We look at five characteristics of obedience required of the bondservant that are helpful in pursuing personal holiness. Ephesians 6:5-8
TECHNICAL NOTE: We had a different sound system this Sunday and the audio is a bit peaked and loud for the first several minutes, then it is corrected back to normal level. Doesn’t the Bible do a great job ruffling our feathers and pushing us out of our comfort zone? Our study of [esvignore]Ephesians 5[/esvignore] and 6 has been doing just that.…
Need some parenting advice? Looking for how to raise your children in Christ without angering them or abandoning them to the world? The Apostle Paul has wise words for us in [esvignore]Ephesians 6:4[/esvignore]. This is a very important message that teaches us how to apply our faith to our family where it really counts. We must minister faithfully to our children, raise…
As we progress through our study we come to the relationship commands to children and parents. We look to [esvignore]Ephesians 6:1-3[/esvignore] for the duty of children to their parents. Join us as we discover how children are not left to their own in the scripture, nor are parents left to figure it all out themselves regarding child training. The Bible speaks directly…
Here is our third sermon on the highly relevant topic of Christian marriage and gender roles as we work our way through the epistle to the Ephesians. We will hear the husband’s duty to selflessly love his wife from [esvignore]Ephesians 5:25-33[/esvignore]. From this passage we draw out the the Duty of Love, the Aim of…
