[esvignore]John 17:6-19[/esvignore] – In the second of three section in our Lord’s high priestly prayer, Jesus intercedes for his disciples. We can draw significant encouragement from this prayer and discover that those who are in Christ are safely and firmly “kept”. This is the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints, in which we are preserved (or ‘kept’) by the power of our Lord to be a harmonious, hedged and holy people.
