Our sermon is entitled “God’s Glory in Judgment” and is taken from [esvignore]1 Samuel 15:1-3[/esvignore]. As we look at the story of Saul’s battle with the Amalekites, we will see a sad failure once again, and the ultimate rejection of Saul. But we can’t simply pass by passages in the Bible that shock us. When the Lord says “destroy them all, men, women, children, infants, and all their animals and stuff,” we need to stop and deal with that, take stock of it and see what it means. Believe it or not, such things do point us Christward.
