Sunday Sermons
At Cornerstone, the sermons are primarily expository in nature. We spend most of our time stepping through a section or book of the Bible verse by verse, section by section, and occasionally we will preach on a theme. The elders strive to make each sermon a Christ centered, church building, Gospel proclaiming, truth driven, biblically grounded, proclamation for the purpose of God glorifying transformation.
Our sermon is entitled, “Gospel of Matthew – The Greatest Ones,” and is taken from [esvignore]Matthew 11:7-19[/esvignore]. We will hear Jesus’ teaching on the role of John the Baptist, the incredible gift he was to the people, and how they rejected both John’s message and Jesus’ message. Though I will not be mentioning the outline segments in the sermon, the outline will…

That free access and reconciliation often carries with it obligations. We will learn yet again of our obligations to follow Jesus no matter where it leads us. We will examine Jesus’ command to not fear those who oppose the gospel, regardless of their ferocity and power. Jesus gives us three reasons to encourage us to fearlessness. The outline will look like this: Opposition Is Normal Three Reasons to Fear…
Our sermon continues the Matthew series and we have a sobering subject: How Much is Jesus Worth to You? We will look at [esvignore]Matthew 10:16-23[/esvignore] and see that there are warnings and hardships attached to following Jesus. Sometimes they will cost us everything. Are you willing? Our sermon headers give you a flavor of the message: Persecution is Sure Do not be…
Brothers and sisters, our next message in the Gospel of Matthew is entitled “The Mission to the Jews” and its from [esvignore]Matthew 10:5-16[/esvignore]. Our sermon, “Lord of the Harvest” comes from [esvignore]Matthew 9:35-10:4[/esvignore]. Our outline is just a few topical headings, they are: Stunning AuthoritySeeing the ProblemMatthew CalledRejected by…
We encounter a demoniac, he is uncontrollable by any man, he is violent. He is no match for Jesus. Here in [esvignore]Matthew 8:28-34[/esvignore] and [esvignore]Mark 5:1-20[/esvignore] we learn what this is all about, it is an immensely interesting story. We will visit Matthew’s short version (theologians believe he was trying to get it all on one scroll!) and Mark’s longer detailed version.…
