We continue where we left off and study [esvignore]2 Samuel 6:12-23[/esvignore]. Here we discover that David’s second attempt to bring back the Ark of God to Jerusalem is successful, and there is much reason to rejoice. But not everyone is happy. Some are more concerned about outward appearances and keeping up their stuffy dignity. And David is married to her. Let us learn that this is not the way a redeemed person acts and why being characterized by a life of misery is not the baseline for Christians. We also deal with the common objections and excuses people put forward justifying their lack of joy. David and his wife serve as a powerful lesson that we ought to be the happiest people on earth. The sermon outline is simple this week:
- The Second Try
- Michal the Miserable
- The Happiest People on Earth
Our public reading was [esvignore]Hebrews 12:18-29[/esvignore]; Benediction: [esvignore]Romans 15:13[/esvignore].
