Our message begins with a reading of the entire story told in [esvignore]1 Samuel 17[/esvignore]. This tale is one of great typology and serves to point us to so many gospel truths that we cannot cover them all in one message, and two sermons will only hit the high points. In our sermon today, we cover five outline points:
First, we look at Symbols and stories. Second, we briefly learn of the war. Third, the important topic of “champions.” What is a champion and why do we care? Our fourth and fifth points are looks at the two adversaries themselves, Goliath and David. Next week in part two, we will continue with points six through eight..
Our public reading was from [esvignore]Hebrews 2:10-18[/esvignore]
