In this part two of our sermon on David and Goliath, we look at the latter half of the epic battle of champions. Our passage, [esvignore]1 Samuel 17:41-58[/esvignore], demonstrated three different ideas: First, the contrast between Saul, David and Goliath. Second, we examined the nature of the victory there in Israel, but also the greater victory of Jesus Christ, our champion. Finally, we dwelled upon the nature of weakness, noting that God is pleased to accomplish all of His victories through the most unusual ways so that no man may boast.
