Here is look at Paul’s prayer for the strengthening of the [esvignore]Ephesians[/esvignore] found in [esvignore]chapter 3[/esvignore], [esvignore]verses 14-21[/esvignore]. Up to this point, we’ve been learning some lofty and beneficial doctrine with our minds focused on great truths. In this prayer, Paul yearns for the Ephesians to also experience the love of Christ in fullness, because knowledge is not enough.
In this sermon, we lay some groundwork and about 18 minutes into it, we dive into the immense and glorious topic of love. We examine some of the great love stories of history and fiction, and find that they are mere shadows of the greatest love story ever told. We learn that love for Christ is power over sin, and we apply these truths by fleshing out the truth that “we do what we love.” We try to uncover the key to victory over besetting sin and the very heartbeat of Christian joy.
