[esvignore] Malachi 1:1-4:6[/esvignore] – The oracle of Malachi records the great apostasy in the land at the time of the close of the Old Testament canon. The nation of Israel, a physical people, disputes with the Lord and the Lord condemns their sin. Yet the true bride – a spiritual people and sinners in need of reformation – are offered hope because of God’s love. We examine this oracle and discover the two great means by which God saves and sanctifies men: First, by remembering the Law of God so as to know our sins and our need; and second, by Gospel preachers who place Christ before our eyes. There in Christ families are healed, nations are strengthened and reformation leavens the earth with the knowledge of God.
