In our study of [esvignore]Proverbs[/esvignore] we come to a great practical command in [esvignore]Proverbs 3:11-12[/esvignore]. But what does it look like to “not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof?” How do we live this out? In this sermon, we examine the idea that a reproof if God’s good medicine for us, and most likely, this medicine is delivered by a friend who is risking a great deal to bring a reproof to you. We learn that discipline must be viewed Biblically as grace, rather than worldy as conflict.
We then walk through 10 practical steps to receive a reproof. These ten steps, studied and applied, will be useful tools to preserve the unity of families, friendships and churches.
Two book recommendations were given, Thomas Watson’s The Godly Man’s Picture and The Doctrine of Repentance.
