Our sermon is entitled, “The Baptism of Jesus.” We come to the first of our Lord’s true active ministry actions in this passage. Up to now, we have been speaking all about the Lord as Matthew has been introducing Him, showing us that He is the Messiah from the testimony of prophets and scripture. But now, the Lord speak for Himself. In today’s text, Jesus launches His mission. We will be in [esvignore]Matthew 3:13-17[/esvignore], and will divide our sermon into the following four sections:
