In today’s culture, the word “submit” is a terribly offensive term. If used in the context of a wife’s duty to her husband, its even more offensive. Christianity, however, is not a cultural faith, we must follow God rather than men and feminists. But Paul’s instruction to wives in [esvignore]Ephesians 5:22-24[/esvignore] is indeed to submit to her husband in all things. What is the nature of this submission? Does it make her a second class human being? How far does it extend? And how is Biblical submission a deep blessing to women? In this sermon, we discover that true feminine value is not found in the autonomous rejection of God’s design for marriage, but in the gospel-declaring, God-ordained authority structure of the one-flesh union of husband and wife.
