Our sermon covers [esvignore]2 Samuel 20[/esvignore], a very sad chapter that closes out the narrative of the Kingdom up through David’s reign. Everything in [esvignore]chapters 21-24[/esvignore] is epilogue, things that happened during David’s reign and not chronological. We find that there isn’t much difference under the Kings than what Israel experienced under the Judges, at least so far. This sad truth prompts us to look to the One King and Judge who rules perfectly, and find our hope in Him alone. Our sermon is outlined as follows:
- Been There, Done That
- Sheba’s Sputtering Rebellion
- Sadness in the King’s House
- The Uncontrollable Joab
- The Same Old Thing
