1st Samuel – Quiet Ministry and Gross Corruption

Here we discover that our times are not that much different than the days when Samuel was a boy – gross corruption in the leadership, ineptitude among parents, abusive religious leaders and dismay among the people. We can, if we linger too long upon the bad, forget that there is one who quietly ministers a glimmer of hope to us at all times. In the worst of places, God has placed His Samuels. We examine [esvignore]1 Samuel 2:11-26[/esvignore] today, including a look at two very wicked villains, Hophni and Phinehas. These men serve as the backdrop on which Samuel shines, and teach us much about our own need for Jesus.

Our benediction was adapted from[esvignore]1 Peter 1:1-2[/esvignore]
