Our message is from [esvignore]1 Samuel 28:3-25[/esvignore]. It is entitled “Night” because we go with Saul into the darkness of his last, miserable night on earth. While we left David last week in the midst of a dilemma, Saul finds himself in a much more grave position. Saul’s life has served as a very dire warning to all of us, yet the warnings are not over yet. Saul’s last desperate act, on his last night on earth, is the incredibly desperate act of visiting a medium to call up the dead. Saul knows God, but he has no living faith in God. Let us be stirred by this desperate man to more fervently grasp the cross of Christ by faith, and take seriously our profession.
Our public reading was [esvignore]Colossians 2:6-15[/esvignore].
Our benediction was adapted from [esvignore]1 Thessalonians 3:11-13[/esvignore].
