Our sermon will cover a large portion of scripture, almost two entire chapters of Old Testament narrative. We do so because of the nature of the topic we will draw out from the narrative. Our sermon is entitled “The Terrible, Grievous, Off-putting Ugliness of Sin,” and that should give a hint about where our time will be invested. I am convinced that if we rightly view sin, we better appreciate the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ. David and Abner, Joab and Ish-bosheth have been teaching us about right and wrong, but this lesson from[esvignore]2 Samuel 3:6-4:12[/esvignore] will be filled with one unsavory act after another.
Our public reading: [esvignore]John 13:1-9[/esvignore]; Benediction: [esvignore]Psalm 67:1-3.[/esvignore]
